The HVN Process:
HVN meets with local Meals on Wheels or Senior Centers, and opens an account with them to pay for qualified veterans’ meals.
Texas counties are served by County Veteran Service Officers (CVSOs) or state Veterans Commission Representatives, who work to help veterans navigate the labyrinth of regulations in the VA system and assist them in obtaining their applicable benefits. CVSOs verify those qualified for HVN support, and then notify meal providing agencies.
Meal-providing-agencies provide meals, and then notify HVN of the number of meals provided and the costs are deducted from HVN’s account.
HVN appeals to individuals, organizations, corporations and to foundations for program funding.
